Merry Christmas!

So this week, we got a really lovely gift from Kathleen's boss, who gave her Thursday afternoon and Friday off. We've taken advantage by spending some quality time together, getting our shopping finished and working on the house a little bit.

Here's a picture of our front door, all dressed up for the season. Dear friends of ours gave us the wreath as a gift, and it's put the finishing touches on our holiday decorations for the year. We're looking forward to sharing family Christmas dinner hosting duties with Adam and Shelly; we'll start with appetizers here and then troupe the turkey across the alley to their house for dinner. Dinner will be held on Boxing Day, to give Kathleen's mom the requisite post-Christmas Eve rest. Because Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday this morning, it's an unusually busy schedule for priests and church musicians. But we're looking forward to Christmas Day, which will be a peaceful and quiet day for two.

Merry Christmas everybody!!
