Bride Brain

We have discovered a new phenomenon, which we affectionately refer to as Bride Brain. It's a condition that afflicts brides in the weeks leading up to their wedding and is best explained by saying that while the bride may be successfully juggling hundreds of details, lists, contacts, schedules, etc, she will leave the house in the morning with only half her makeup on. She will leave the front door open. She will mispell words that she has always known how to spell. She will wear clothes that clearly don't match. She will refer to family members, and even her fiance, by the wrong names. You get the picture. Kathleen is a textbook case. Sometimes the symptoms appear in grooms as well... we both forgot garbage day this morning.

Kathleen's last day at work is today, and some of her co-workers threw her a beautiful potluck luncheon yesterday. It was such a lovely surprise!! She's very much looking forward to being finished work and being able to focus on only the wedding details. Maybe that will alleviate the BB problem. The house is being professionally cleaned this morning in anticipation of arriving family and friends early next week. The first party has been set for Tuesday night in the backyard... the ball is rolling!

So far, the weather for next week looks absolutely beautiful; we're keeping our fingers crossed, and knocking on lots of wood, that it holds through brunch on the 8th!

Happy Canada Day Everyone!!
