Hello everybody! The three weeks since the wedding have flown by! We've played some golf (it's rumoured that Kathleen out-drove John...), Kathleen has gone back to work for a week and half to push her projects another step forwards, we are preparing our house to take in our dear friends Kevin and Sonya while we're away, and tomorrow, we fly to Scotland! We will be on tour with Da Camera singers for the next two weeks, and are very excited! The tour will see us sing in a number of Cathedrals in Scotland and England, including doing one Evensong and one Sunday morning Eucharist. The tour has been organized to also allow us a good deal of time to sight-see, which we are very much looking forward to.
We'll post again when we return, including pictures!

Post-Wedding Relaxation
So we did it! We got married! We are Mr. and Mrs. Brough! And what a wonderful celebration it was. Beautiful music, beautiful liturgy, lots of laughter, lots of joy, and a wonderful opportunity to celebrate with so many people who mean so much to us. Thank you so much to everyone who was involved, and thanks to everyone who has kept track of our journey on this blog. We foresee keeping the blog active, but maybe not for the next couple of weeks while we catch up on our sleep. We are looking forward to our tour to England and Scotland in just a few weeks, so there are certain to be stories we'll post from that trip!

Thursday!
Just a very quick post this late evening to say that the wedding rehearsal could not have gone more smoothly than it did, and we were blessed with a wonderful and joyous rehearsal dinner at the home of dear friends Elsa and Don.
Earlier today, the guys had lots of good fun out on the golf course for John's stag tournament, while the girls relaxed at the spa.
Last errands will get run tomorrow before choir practice tomorrow evening, and then all the preparations will officially be done!

Wednesday!
THREE more days to go!
Yesterday, John’ immediate family arrived – including Mom, Dad, Jennifer, Andrew and the three girls, Amanda, Jessica and Katie. Later in the day, Eric, the Best Man also arrived, meaning that 2/3rds of John’s bridal party are now in Edmonton, and we are awaiting Kevin’s arrival sometime tomorrow afternoon. Kathleen’s eldest brother, Patrick also arrived from Italy late last night.
The first large family gathering happened, with 12 of us enjoying ribs, chicken, beer and wine in the backyard. It’s the first official sign that the wedding is upon us, and we are looking forward to the fun the next week will provide. Pictures of the first gathering are below (the jet lag is obvious is a few of them)…
in the mean time, here are the items that need to be checked off the “to do” list today:
• Pick up tuxes (provided they have arrived in the store)
• drop off stuff at Windermere Golf Course for the reception
• find some suitable prizes for John’s golf tournament tomorrow morning

Monday!
Five Days to Go! Today has been very very productive... and almost a complete disaster. It started off on the wrong foot, so to speak. Kathleen was sorting laundry this morning, and John was on his way out the door to do some handywork on the deck... there are no witnesses to what happened next, but John reappeared in the living room about 30 seconds later bleeding from both ankles and a knee, with a scraped hand and a purple finger nail. To put it bluntly, John took a major tumble down the front stairs, landing on the front lawn. We are very relieved that nothing is broken, but we expect that he'll be sore in the morning.
Once we had that all sorted out, gashes cleaned and bandaged, John took on the deck repair while Kathleen baked communion bread for the wedding service. This afternoon we headed out to hook up audio equipment at the church and drop fabric off at the florist. We finished off the afternoon by getting the yard work done in anticipation of family and best man arriving tomorrow! And the week begins...

Happy Birthday Delilah!
'Twas a year ago this Canada Day that Sarah produced Isaac, Micah, Delilah, Puah and Sampson on the living room floor of the old apartment at the back of the church. Much has changed in the last year!
